GO² Global Yachting
unveils new 'portable
dosing unit' in Monaco

Cerion Energy and ECOsuperyacht's 'GO²' partnership plans to revolutionise yacht fueling with a new unveiling

A new portable dosing system by GO² Global Yachting, the partnership formed by Cerion Energy and ECOsuperyacht earlier this year, is among a host of major new products that will be launched at this year's Monaco Yacht Show (MYS).

The new unveiling comes a year after GO², Cerion Energy's diesel fuel additive, was launched into the superyacht market at 2011's MYS. Following high demand of GO², ECOsuperyacht became its exclusive European distributor.

The GO² fuel additive was later honoured with a prestigious DAME Award at the Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS), the marine leisure industry's largest trade event in Amsterdam.

GO² is today used aboard many superyachts worldwide. This award-winning popularity lead Global Yachting to devise its new portable dosing system, which has been designed to avoid problems which can occur during manual bunkering processes.

Richard Franklin, managing director of ECOsuperyacht and the head of GO² Global Yachting told Yachting Pages, "You've only got one option, which is to refuel manually as part of the bunkering process.

"This creates problems for some boats; particularly the bigger boats where they have set processes in order to reduce the risk of spills. You want to avoid having to disconnect hoses halfway through the process, and so on. So we basically said that we need to have an automated dosing system.

"The new system is designed to make the process of adding GO² to a superyacht's fuel as easy as possible, both in terms of safety and accuracy, while working at a dosing rate of 4,000 gallons [of Diesel fuel to one gallon of GO²]."

GO² Global Yachting's new dosing device has so far only been revealed at its prototype stage. The final unveiling will take place at MYS 2012.

GO² Global Yachting continues to feel confident that its GO² superyacht fuel additive occupies a small and unique niche with plenty of demand. "There are very few other manufacturers on the market that need to dose with the precision in which GO² must be dosed.

"As far as I know, nobody else has specified the need to have a portable dockside dosing unit to work with a particular additive," said Richard. "We have created this product because there is a need for it from our customers; over 60 superyachts now use GO², of which the largest is 95 metres.

"Getting that product into the fuel tanks as quickly and safely as possible is a priority for us."

Richard believes that the new portable dosing system will also expand the appeal of the GO² additive. "It will remove a barrier for us to sell the product to some people who have said: "I would love to use the product, but I am a bit dubious about how to get it into my tank."

MYS 2012 is the first time that Cerion Energy and ECOsuperyacht will exhibit jointly as GO² Global Yachting. The "bigger and better stand" will present demonstrations, sea trial data and user testimonials. Visitors can also see GO²'s particles with high-tech laser systems.

GO² Global Yachting's stand will host a planned special guest appearance by the adventurer Alan Priddy whose upcoming around-the-world powerboat record attempt will be powered by the GO² diesel fuel additive.
